The UK has a different Micro Force series 3 than the US

On a lark, I decided to look for Micro Force images on Instagram.  I thought maybe I find out if Series 3 had been released yet.  And it had shown up in the UK, but they were completely different figures from those announced as part of the upcoming Solo movie products.

These official photos were posted by Hasbro Pulse.  Comments with the photos state that this series has shown up at a UK store called Sainsburys in the last few weeks.  I did check Sainsburys’ website, but they only had Series 1 listed.

This set is obviously a Last Jedi themed set, with six figures from that movie. I’m thrilled to get a “Jedi Exile” Luke (instead of the “Jedi Master”) look as well as Rose, Poe, Leia, and BB-9E.  While Snoke wasn’t on my wishlist, I like the idea of him as the hologram figure since that’s how we were introduced to the character.

It’s also nice to see more Rogue One figures (including Chirrut, one of my favorites).  Hopefully this trend of including 2 Rogue One figures in each set will continue at least until we get the main cast (and beyond!)

‘Most surprising to me, however is the reprint of the Kit Fisto figure from series 4 of the Fighter Pod line.  Kit Fisto is one of my favorite Star Wars characters, and I never found the original figure.  I’m delighted to get another shot at him.

I have no clue why Hasbro is releasing a different Series 3 overseas than here.  Hopefully this set will be Series 4 here in the US as there are definitely some must have figures in this line.

And, if any of you in the UK are reading this and has some of these figures to trade, let me know.  The same Instagram posts mentioned earlier stated that Series 2 hasn’t shown up there, but they have here. No reason to let a silly thing like an ocean come get in the way of our Star Wars collections.

Star Wars The Last Jedi Micro Force (Fighter Pods): BB-9E

So today’s the big day and The Last Jedi finally opens! Does Luke take the lightsaber from Rey and go back to fight the First Order? Does Finn survive?  How many more X-Wings does Poe get, and will they have custom paint jobs too? What in the world is a Porg?  All these questions will be answered as well as…who is BB-9E?

SWBBs

As popular as BB-8 became after The Force Awakens, it was inevitable that more of these rolling droids would show up, and that not all of them would be so friendly.

I know nothing about BB-9E other than he is supposedly bad (Director Rian Johnson referred to him as BB-H8 during the filming). But, since I had made a BB-8, I had to make his counterpart (arch-nemesis?) as well. BB-9E was made from clay with the tip of a toothpick for the antenna.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi Micro Force (Fighter Pods) Executioner Trooper

So, never dreaming that Hasbro would actually start making Fighter Pods (now called Micro Force) again, I started making a few figures from the new movie, The Last Jedi.  Although I obviously haven’t seen the movie yet, a few designs peaked my interest. The first is the Executioner Trooper.

SWExecutioner

I realize this is just a modified First Order Stormtrooper design, but it still intrigued me, so I had to make one.

Since I have made a few First Order Stormtroopers before, I wanted this new guy to have a different pose.  I used a Clone Trooper base with a Stormtrooper head with a new hand to hold the weapon.  The weapon is made out of clay. The energy spikes were made with super glue gel with a light blue paint wash.
