Marvel Fighter Pods: Agent May

May2

One of my all-time favorite TV shows is Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, and I finally made Agent May (seen her with my custom Coulson).

I used the Fighter Pods series 4 Padme as a base, but something seemed off.  Then I realized what it was.  The look on her face was too…nice.  Agent May is many amazing and honorable things, but nice isn’t one of them.  So I used a head from a series 4 Asajj Ventress (with some clay for hair) to get that stern May look.

May often goes into battle unarmed saying “If I need a gun, I’ll take one”. I gave her two different guns to symbolize that attitude.

I saw Ming-Na Wen, the actress who plays May, at a convention in 2015 and quickly gained even more respect for her acting abilities.  The best word I can use to describe her is raucous.  She was full of joy, laughing, smiling, and cracking jokes. She couldn’t be farther from the deadly serious, restrained Agent May.

Geek on the Cheap

I found some pretty good deals lately.  Everything in the this picture cost about $5 total.  I found the Hot Wheels R2-D2 and the Batman Unlimited Mighty Mini at the local dollar store, and the Darth Vader and Boba Fett Funko Pop Pens were on clearance at Target for $1.48 each.  I cut the pens off the figures so I could display them.

The dollar store had the last series of Batman Unlimited Mighty Minis (also including Nightwing, Red Robin, Polar Batman, Clayface, and Killer Croc) as well as the Star Wars 40th Anniversary Hot Wheels Character car set.
