I am a big fan of the X-Men movies, and since I was collecting the movie Avengers, I thought the X-men should be represented as well. Hugh Jackman has expressed an interest in crossing over with the Avengers movies, and Wolverine was an Avenger in the comics. So I made a movie Wolverine based on his appearance in X-Men: Days of Future Past. I used a Nightwing from the Batman set as the base with the head of the Mercenary from the Dark Knight Rises set. Logan’s traditional hairstyle was made with super glue gel.
In honor of the premiere of Avengers: Age of Ultron, I will be posting Marvel movie custom Heroclix this week. First up is Dr. Bruce Banner. While WizKids did make a Banner clix, I never found one. So I decided to make one of my own. I used the head of a comic book Bruce Banner heroclix and the body of an Aldrich Killian clix.
I was not much of a Hulk fan before the first Avengers movie, but I think both Banner and the Hulk were the breakout stars of the movie.
My shelf mostly consists of Fighter Pods and Heroclix with some popular culture Hot Wheels. Fighter Pods and Heroclix have a wide character selection which cover multiple licenses. You can have Batman and Spider-man or Captain Kirk and Captain America all in the same scale and style. Plus, they are inexpensive and small, so they are easy on both the wallet and the storage space. As far as the Hot Wheels go, who can resist a Batmobile or the Starship Enterprise for $1? Apparently not me.
I also customize both Fighter Pods and Heroclix and will be posting these as well.
