The Micro Force Series 3 Mystery

About a week ago I posted that the UK had a different Micro Force Series 3 than we were getting here in the US (based on the photos shown during the big Solo toy reveal).

However, Hasbro sent out May the Fourth packages to some US-based Star Wars sites, and these packages included  the same The Last Jedi-themed series 3 as seen in the UK, instead of the Solo-themed series 3 originally advertised.

To top it off, Entertainment Earth is now offering pre-orders for series 3pre-orders for series 3, with this handy little picture that I think shows which characters are packed with which characters.

I really don’t care which order the figures come out, as long as they are all released. I’m ecstatic about the figures pictured above and I can’t wait to have K-2SO and a goggle-wearing Chewie (among others) join them.  Maybe we will see the Solo-themed line in the fall (maybe when Solo is released on disc?).

The UK has a different Micro Force series 3 than the US

On a lark, I decided to look for Micro Force images on Instagram.  I thought maybe I find out if Series 3 had been released yet.  And it had shown up in the UK, but they were completely different figures from those announced as part of the upcoming Solo movie products.

These official photos were posted by Hasbro Pulse.  Comments with the photos state that this series has shown up at a UK store called Sainsburys in the last few weeks.  I did check Sainsburys’ website, but they only had Series 1 listed.

This set is obviously a Last Jedi themed set, with six figures from that movie. I’m thrilled to get a “Jedi Exile” Luke (instead of the “Jedi Master”) look as well as Rose, Poe, Leia, and BB-9E.  While Snoke wasn’t on my wishlist, I like the idea of him as the hologram figure since that’s how we were introduced to the character.

It’s also nice to see more Rogue One figures (including Chirrut, one of my favorites).  Hopefully this trend of including 2 Rogue One figures in each set will continue at least until we get the main cast (and beyond!)

‘Most surprising to me, however is the reprint of the Kit Fisto figure from series 4 of the Fighter Pod line.  Kit Fisto is one of my favorite Star Wars characters, and I never found the original figure.  I’m delighted to get another shot at him.

I have no clue why Hasbro is releasing a different Series 3 overseas than here.  Hopefully this set will be Series 4 here in the US as there are definitely some must have figures in this line.

And, if any of you in the UK are reading this and has some of these figures to trade, let me know.  The same Instagram posts mentioned earlier stated that Series 2 hasn’t shown up there, but they have here. No reason to let a silly thing like an ocean come get in the way of our Star Wars collections.

Star Wars Micro Force: Finn

Continuing our review of the Series 2 Micro Force figures is Finn, everyone’s favorite Stormtrooper turned Rebel.

MF Finn

Finn is shown here in his Stormtrooper gear.  I won’t be surprised if we get another one in his rebel gear in a future series (or you can see a custom version here).

Here’s the new Finn with the custom version I made about 2 years ago. Not surprisingly (and correctly, considering the main target audience), Hasbro decided to forgo the bloody hand print with their version.

STAR WARS MICRO FORCE TIE FIGHTER PILOT

Our series covering the new Micro Force Series 2 takes a turn to the dark side with one of the bad guys, a TIE Fighter Pilot!

MF FO Pilot

The new TIE Fighter Pilot features a new visor as well as some red markings on the helmet.

Here’s the new pilot with one of the original Fighter Pod pilots. With rumors circulating that the line may soon include vehicles, these pilots may get some new ships soon!

NEW MICRO FORCE COMING THIS SPRING

Hasbro-Solo-Reveals-April-9-2018-014

Yesterday Hasbro released photos of their new toys from the Solo movie, and they included a new line of Micro Force, available this spring.  This line just keeps getting better and better with six figures from the new Solo movie plus Cassian and K-2SO from Rogue One! K-2SO is one of my top wants, and I’m so happy they included the sarcastic droid in this series.

Also included are four previously released Fighter Pod figures.  X-Wing Pilot Luke, Force-choke Vader, and the helmet-holding Clone Trooper are some my favorites from the old Fighter Pod line, and I never found that version of Mace Windu, so I’m excited about all four.

Hasbro, another great job!  While I am not usually a completist, I’m definitely getting all of these figures.

Solo Battle Rollers

While out of town recently, I stopped into Toys R Us and found a new Battle Rollers playset from the upcoming Solo movie. The back of the box showed other upcoming Battle Rollers including many figures that weren’t previewed at this year’s New York Toy Fair.  I also noticed another figure in the photo of the set itself (see bottom of the photo below).  It looks like it may be a new trooper (possibly a Range Trooper?).

BattleRollersSolo

The new set includes:

  • Han Solo in the Millennium Falcon
  • Rio Durant in an Imperial AT-Hauler
  • Kylo Ren in a Tie Silencer
  • Poe Dameron in his signature X-Wing (a must have for me)
  • The Emperor in an Imperial Shuttle (re-release from the first set)
  • Chewbacca in the Millennium Falcon

I’m looking forward to this new set, and hope the the K-2SO previewed at Toy Fair is coming soon as well.

Stay tuned later this week as the new Micro Force reviews continue!

Star Wars Micro Force BB-8

Here’s another entry in a series highlighting the new Micro Force (formerly Fighter Pods) figures.  Today’s entry is the perfect combination of cute and cool, the droid BB-8!

MF BB8

I like how the designers added a sand cloud to help stabilize the spherical character. He’s definitely one of my top wants from the new series.

MF BB 2

Here’s the new Micro Force version with the custom version I made from clay.
