Over the summer, some friends of mine visited Disney World. It started me thinking the Star Wars/Disney mashup toys Disney has released. And then I thought, “Fighter Pod versions would be great!”. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any extra Disney toys to use.
Flash forward a few weeks and I see Goofy figurines at the local Dollar Tree. Since Goofy is my favorite of the Disney gang, I was now ready to start.
(On a side note, I never really understood why Goofy was made Darth Vader. I understand that they are both tall, but Goofy doesn’t really have that Sith attitude. Maybe a Wookie? Frankly, he’d make a pretty good Jar Jar.)
Darth Goofy was made from the aforementioned Goofy figurine, a holographic Darth Vader Fighter Pod, and a hand from a figure I can’t remember (I had previously pilfered the non-lightsaber hand for another project). The head is a little big for the Fighter Pod scale, but tiny Vader helmet (from the actual Fighter Pod head) on Goofy’s head makes me chuckle. Since the figure was made from translucent red plastic, I left the lightsaber unpainted to give it that glowing look.
